Torsional vibration destroys modified engines. Factory dampers use fixed frequency rubber tuningfine for stock motors, but once you modify the engine or the rubber wears out, it's no longer tuned to your actual frequency. That's when damage happens.

If you're running a Type S oil pump, you're removing Honda's balance shaft system, which was engineered to cancel secondary vibrations. The K24's 99mm stroke is long for an inline 4 cylinder, which naturally generates significant secondary vibration. Without those balance shafts, you've got uncontrolled vibration running through the entire engine.
